Structure (AO5/6)

Most of my students make up their stories as they go along. This is not a good idea. It very rarely leads to a piece of writing which is compelling to read. Also, marks are awarded for structure - so a story needs to have a distinct plot. This is a very rewarding class. Once I have shared my techniques for crafting a clear structure, my students can see that they can make significant progress. I ask them to produce a piece of writing before the course begins - they then re-use the same title after learning plot technique - the improvement is always striking. Three sessions. Two pieces of homework.

This is a very good course for building confidence.
